The day started as it meant to go on. The band in convoy found breakfast to be of a very good standard. It was even better knowing that Phil Harris was paying for all 42 of us!!

Our first engagement of the day took us into the Northwest Community Centre where we played hymn tune requests to the number of folk that regularly visit the centre. The folk were very kind and interested in the work that we did as a band.

After some time spent in the local shopping mall, the band left for the main reason of the tour - the Convention. This was a great evening. We were made to feel very much at home with such a warm welcome being given. The band responded with some good performances. Paul Sharman was being applauded during his solo, and Mark, Keith Tim and Neil followed in the same form. We also had another solo at the end of the night that was not planned. Poor Rhianon Selby added an extra note at the end of the march Praise, though owned up straight away for her mistake, but is still the butt of many of the band's jokes.

Before the band went on they presented Keith Watts with the "Clanger of the Day" award. He picked up the first sheet of Neil's solo music the night before when he had already moved onto the second sheet, putting off the trombone section whilst doing this. We are in discussions for the next day award: it's a tossup between Rhianon for her impromptu performance and Alex Pearce for his unbelievable domino-effect toppling of the music stands before the programme.

The night finished off with an excellent Chinese buffet for most of the band. However, the day has to be remembered for our primary reason to save souls. We heard last night that our link with the tour, Jeanne, had been given bad news about her Grandson who has been diagnosed with a brain tumour. We certainly prayed that God would be within that situation. We ask for all prayers for this young child, and the continuation of the band's work on this tour.
