Ed:  On a lighter note I recall that the Songsters used to visit Lyncroft to sing carols at the time that it was an 'Unmarried Mothers Maternity Home'.  We sang our carols to the 20 or so heavily pregnant mothers.  My closing words were not easily forgotten - "We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and hope to see you again next year."
