Bertha Hughes and Bill Kennedy recently celebrated their
80th birthdays.
Congratulations to
Jean and John Sutherland who have celebrated their Golden Wedding.
Successes
- Darren Selby has been admitted to the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.  Jill Adams has gained an Advanced Diploma in Child Care and Education.
Here's another kind of success to report,
Bethany Bovan has added a yellow belt to the red belt she achieved for Karate.  We don't know what the next step is, but if there is a blue belt, she will have them in the three 'Army' colours!!
Our deepest sympathies and prayers extend to the family of
Eddy Lewis.  Though not a soldier, Eddy attended Sunday evening meetings and the Home League (now CAMEO).
There are not many people at the Corps now who remember when
Lt Col W Garlington Snape was our CO back in the fifties.  He and Mrs Snape were stationed here for five years.  One of the vivid memories I have of his stay here was a particular Band Practice talk he gave on the theme 'And Peter warmed his hands'.  It was a very spiritual time and a number of reconsecrations were made at the end of the practice.  Bandsmen of that era still talk about it.  We were very saddened to learn that the Colonel had been Promoted to Glory and our deepest sympathies and prayers are extended to the family.
