All three are important topics which we have spent several weeks talking and learning about, through both practical and non-practical activities. Since September we have also changed the programme slightly and Junior Soldiers' classes are now running regularly on a Sunday between 11 and 11.40am. These are very important teachings, which the youngsters really work hard at. There are different levels - Bronze, Silver and Gold, and as they complete tasks and activities, they can achieve badges. This is a vital area of their Christian experience and it is great to see it running so well. Much of this is thanks to the hard work of the Junior Soldiers Sergeant, Helen Mynott. The visit to Hendon has probably been a highlight for most of them and I am sure that you have heard many glowing reports of that fabulous weekend. Our young folk did the Corps proud. I was lucky enough to be part of the weekend and I was very proud of all of them. Many 'new faces' have joined both Primary and Sunday School over the last few months. This is great, and has given the group a whole new slant as each person's character and personality starts to come shining through. For once it seems that we actually have more 'ladies' than 'gentlemen', which as you can imagine makes a huge difference, (in particular the noise level!!). The other thing that is good to see is the new friendships which are being created and developed. Often I will have cries of 'Please, please can I work with………' when any mention of group work comes up, desperate to stay with their 'best mate'. Well as you can see the hard work of all the youngsters and the YP workers still goes on, and I would ask for your continued encouragement and prayers for all that we aim to achieve. Our Young People visit Hendon Jennie Blessett From the first 'Hallelujah' to the last 'Amen' the Lord was truly praised. This is just how I felt about the weekend. I am truly privileged to be part of the Singing Company and YP Band - a fantastic group of young people with such a bright spirit and love for each other, the Army and the Lord.
