Saturday | Sunday
Sunday started with a time of prayer and asking the Lord to open people’s hearts. Throughout the day the worship was led by Captain Mark Sawyer, and people were brought close to God. The Songsters, through their singing of All There is of Me introduced the message. This was brought by three Songsters who talked enthusiastically but personally on how God was working in their lives. The congregation certainly felt they were on Holy Ground.
Sunday afternoon started with praise and worship to God. The Songsters presented music that complemented their style and leadership. Mark then brought the congregation into a close working of the Holy Spirit, where people were asked to commit their lives to God and rededicate themselves in how they live their lives. Many responded to this invitation.
It was a fantastic weekend where God was clearly at the centre of it. There was never a hint of Castleford Songsters performing to Birmingham - only that Jesus would be lifted to the highest.
A fitting climax to the weekend was the massed singing of Castleford and Birmingham Songsters in God we will give you Glory, and God we will give you Praise.
