David McKee is renowned for doing open air meetings that are a little different. This one was no exception!!! We have had everything from, "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue", to Millennium Street Parties, and this latest involved our very own Corps Football Team.

The football team were out in full football kit and kicking a ball about whilst playing some jazzed up hymn tunes. The aim was to attract attention and put across the simple message that, although we wear uniforms and look different, we are just ordinary people.

Whilst the YP Band played Come and Hear one of the on-lookers, complete with straw boater and walking stick, even managed a few dance steps. As you can see, there was a great response to the open air meeting with plenty of people stopping to listen.

There was even time for the timbrels, songs from the Singing Company and the Songsters before the march back to the hall following what had been a truly memorable open air meeting with a capacity crowd of on-lookers. Everyone received a handout featuring a photo of the football team and including the text John 3-16.
