Songsters Visit to Clydebank - 13/14 May 2000

Let the Morning Bring, sung by the songsters commenced the meeting on Sunday Morning,  The day's meetings were conducted by Captain Catherine Wyles (Divisional Youth Officer - West Midlands Division) whose thoughts for the day were very challenging, as were words of personal testimony by Edward Dixon, Doreen Stokes and the contribution of Clydebank Singing Company.

A light hearted children's story (for the young at heart as well!!) with the basis being trying to match the name with the face, had much laughter, with one of the songster's names (who shall remain nameless) meaning "little one"!!

Following this, the songsters sang, The Majesty and Glory of His Name, not only changing the atmosphere completely but bringing much blessing to many people as well.  After the meeting had concluded, an open air ministry was held near to the Corps on the theme of Reaching Out, led by Deputy Songster Leader Matthew Mynott.  The songsters contributed to the open air witness with their singing of Reach Out and He is Exalted, and Clydebank Band played To Regions Fair.

The praise meeting commenced with the lively and energetic singing of This Little Light.  Other highlights included Wake Up O Sleeper, Part the Waters and Shine on Us.  Robert O'Connor and Helen Mynott also shared personal testimonies.  The main highlight of the evening was the portrayal of the Easter Story.  Captain Wyles' effective drama presentation depicting what it was like during the crucifixion and resurrection was the main basis behind this.  The songsters enhanced the portrayal with Shout for Joy, God so Loved the World, Green Hill (with the male songsters standing depicting a cross), Wounds of Christ and finally Celebration Morning.

The evening concluded with a courteous vote of thanks for everybody on both sides of the border who made the weekend a success, and a final song by the songsters Carry the Light.   It was a great weekend for all concerned.
