Everyone present at the Methodist Church looked forward to a musical feast as Vision Brass played the songsters in to The Red Shield march.

The songsters introduced themselves by singing Proclaim the Glory of the Lord. After welcoming words from the minister, the temperature was raised even higher with some exciting music making such as You Raise Me Up and Too Hot Down There! Individual items included The Laughing Song - this was great operatic singing by Stephanie Lamplough - and Robert Hayward playing The Gypsy Virtuoso on his xylophone accompanied by Vision Brass. The timbrels gave their usual energetic display - an item always appreciated wherever they go.

A whole range of numbers included excerpts from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, a group of songs reminding us of Easter, and through to Christ’s ascension to heaven with the song titled The Throne of Heaven. Probably the evening’s most demanding music came with Laudate Dominum sung in Latin. It was very well presented.

The most envied man in the church on this very hot evening was the barefooted minister as he gave his vote of thanks dressed only in T-shirt and shorts. Even the songsters had discarded their shoes!
Thanks to everyone for a great evening of music making and praise to the Lord.
