Joy, contemplation and classical styles were all features of a splendid
festival presented by Staines Songster Brigade at Birmingham Citadel. The timbrellists sparkled their way through some jaunty Shostakovich music. Personal
witness was the added feature, which clothed the festival in an air of
delightful informality.
Major John Thompson who was returning to his Birmingham roots led Sunday’s
meetings. Personal witness was again a feature as members of the Brigade related
their Christian experiences in workplaces as diverse as Legoland and Heathrow
airport. Our own musical sections supported throughout the day. All
concerned experienced an uplifting weekend.
