Friday 8th September 2000

Friday 8th September in the Citadel at 8.00pm the Brass Band Willebroek (Belgium) will be presenting the first public performance of this years British Open’s test piece and will follow this with a programme of music.  Tickets at £5 are available from Graham Daff.  Demand is expected to be great so you are recommended to purchase your tickets as soon as possible.


Tuesday 10th October 2000

On Tuesday 10th October in the Dudley Town Hall at 2.00pm there will be the Home League Rally, with special guest Colonel Judith Houghton.  This will be followed at 5.00pm with the Over 60’s Rally.


14th/15th October 2000

Youth Councils commences on Friday 13th at 8.00pm in the Cradley Heath SA Hall with a prayer meeting. This meeting is open to all ages.  On Saturday at 7.00pm in the Droitwich SA Hall there is an event titled ‘What Now? That’s what I call Music!’  Tickets at £4 are available from DHQ.  Sunday’s sessions held at the Dudley Town Hall will commence at 11.00am, 2.30pm and 5.30pm.


Saturday 21st October 2000

Listen to Birmingham Citadel Songsters and hear about the Mustard Seed Project.  Meetings led by Colonels Derek and Mary Elvin (Secretary for Programme and Overseas Project Officer).  Meeting commences at 7.00pm.


Wednesday 25th October 2000

Salvationists are called to pray for leadership within the Salvation Army. Prayer meetings will take place on Wednesday October 25th at 7.30pm. We have a choice of venues – Droitwich, Newcastle-under-Lyme or Blackheath


28/29th October 2000

Saturday and Sunday 28/29th October we have the visit of Rock Ferry YP Band and Singing Company. The weekend will commence on the Saturday with a festival at 7.00pm and tickets at £2 (£1 concessionary) are available from Mark Adams and Jill Adams. Sundays meetings will commence at 10.30am and 5.00pm.


1st/2nd November 2000

There is to be a Christmas Fayre in the Aston SA Hall on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd November from 9am to 1pm. Any contributions would be gratefully accepted by Katy Heeks.


Thursday 2nd November 2000

At 7.45pm, we have the visit of the Stockholm VII Band. Tickets are available from Bandsman Melvyn Owen.


29/30th November 2000

SP&S have decided since their relocation to run a pilot roadshow scheme to take a mobile shop to all Divisions outside the immediate London area. The first of these will take place at our own DHQ on Wednesday 29th November from 5.30pm to 10.00pm and from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Thursday 30th November. We are assured there will be a broad selection of products available.

Birmingham Citadel Corps presents Carols at Christmas at 2.30pm and 6.00pm in the Symphony Hall Birmingham.  Please note the General of the Salvation Army, John Gowans and his wife Gisèle will be our special guests.

There is to be a collection at the West Bromwich Albion v Stockport football match from 1.30pm onwards. If you are able to help would you please add your name to the list on the noticeboard.


Saturday 17th February 2001

Saturday February 17th 2001, from 11.00am – 4.30pm at the Christian Centre, the West Midlands Division presents ‘Resource for Mission’. Following this at 6.30pm there will be a Salvationists Celebration! which will be led by the Territorial Commander Alex Hughes. They will be supported by Worcester Band, Leek Singing Company and Blackheath Timbrels. Tickets at £2.50/£1.50 are available from DHQ.


Sunday 20th May 2001

The farewell meeting for Major Samuel Edgar and Major Julia Johnson will be on Sunday 20th May at 6.00pm. Following the meeting, refreshments will be served in the YP hall.


Wednesday 23rd May 2001

The Divisional Farewell to the Divisional Commanders Lt. Colonels Ron and Janette Smith will take place on Wednesday 23rd May at 7.30pm in the Adrian Boult Hall.  Citadel Songsters are on duty.


Sunday 3rd June 2001

The welcome meeting for Majors Victor and Miriam Kennedy will be on Sunday morning June 3rd. There will be no Sunday school or visitation that morning. Following the evening meeting, refreshments will be served in the YP hall.


Wednesday 6th June 2001

The Divisional Welcome to the new Divisional Commanders Majors William and Gillian Heeley, and other officers new to the division will take place on Wednesday 6th June at 7.30pm in the Citadel.  Senior Band are on duty.


Monday 10th September 2001

Home League outing to Llandudno. If anyone would like to go on this outing, would they please see Jean Sutherland as soon as possible. The coach will be leaving at 9.30am and the cost is £7.


Friday 12th October 2001

At 7.30pm there will be a Quiz Night at the Citadel. The cost will be £2 per person and funds raised from this event will go to the YP Corps and the Citadel Football Team. Please support this event and further information can be obtained from Gerald Harding.


Saturday 20th October 2001

There is to be a Cabaret Evening which is being arranged by YP Band Leader Mark Sharman. The cost for the Cabaret/Meal will be £5 each.  Tickets will be sold on a ‘first come, first served’ basis so that the caterers have exact numbers and must be purchased prior to the day.  Tickets are available from Gavin Harding, Laura Scott and Mark Sharman.  The proceeds are in aid of the Annual Appeal.

The Divisional Salvationist Rally is to be held on Saturday 2nd February at 6pm in the Birmingham Christian Centre. Tickets are available from DHQ. (£1.50/£1)


Monday 24th June 2002

CAMEO outing to Stratford upon Avon on Monday June 24th. Coach will leave the Hall at 10am. Cost for non-members is £8 including tea which will be taken at Banbury. If you are interested in going please speak to Jean Sutherland or Major Miriam Kennedy.


Saturday 29th June 2002

The YP are holding a Car Treasure Hunt as part of their anniversary weekend.  It will start at 4.00pm from St Stephen’s Church, Cannock and will cost £5 per car.  Afterwards there will be refreshments available followed by entertainment from the YP Band and Singing Company. The evening will finish at 8.00pm.  Tickets and further details are available from Karen Farmer or Edward Dixon.

Starting at 6.30pm in the Birmingham Christian Centre will be the Salvationist's Rally with special guests Chief Secretary Lt. Col Victor Poke, Rev'd Roly Bain (Christian Clown), Nuneaton Band, Cradley Heath Songsters and our own Singing Company.  Admission is by programme £1, available from DHQ or on the door.
