After a good few weeks of practising the time came to finally go to Newcastle and join in fellowship with the people there. It was an excellent night. The presence of God was certainly evident and I feel that all those hard weeks of rehearsing finally paid off when we witnessed so many people just having fun worshipping God.
There was something for everybody!! From a games to timbrels and from 80s band to gospel choir we certainly made sure we could put a smile on everyone’s face that evening. It was certainly a challenge for those of us who went as we had never really done a praise party at a different corps before other than our own. It was a great experience one which I hope to be involved in again.
It was very encouraging that at the end we could join the Birmingham Cit worship band with those that were in the worship band at Newcastle and we were able to have a big jamming session which was just ace! It really encouraged us as a worship band as I am sure it did for those at Newcastle too, as we saw so many smiling faces and people enjoying themselves which is what it’s all about!!
The Praise Party was a really fab event which I feel has certainly encouraged us to continue going to other corps and introducing this new and exciting way of worshipping God. We hope to make the future praise parties bigger and better and if you would like us to come to your corps then just get in touch!!
