This Praise Party was an amazing event and in my opinion the best one yet! Many people commented on how good it was - so if you didn't come you missed out! The new idea of having the disco first worked well, more people got up and danced unlike at past Praise Parties. The disco was rounded off with the 'Spice Girls' and their routine to Spice Up Your Life, which was done by five girls from Birmingham Citadel. Then came songs from the Corps Music Group (CMG) and dance performances. The timbrels also participated to the ever popular Floral Dance and were well received. There was live music from the Birmingham Citadel worship band and thought-provoking and inspiring dance performances from Newcastle under Lyme Corps. We played some interesting games which went down well and the people who participated had a lot of fun. More entertainment was from the 'Ra Ra Girls' an 80's tribute band who also performed at this year's West Midlands Summer School.
From this year's Summer School Final Festival came a dance to There Can Be Miracles by Mariah Carey which was choreographed by Stephanie Lamplough. This was closely followed by a talk by Major Stephen White who was the main speaker of the evening. Some other people who gave their testimonies were Louise Avison and Andrew Dickinson who spoke about their experiences at this year's Summer School and Andrew also included thoughts about his move to Sheffield. The evening was rounded off with a big worship session lead by the CMG. It was a powerful time, everyone got involved and it was a great way to end the evening. The Praise Party was a huge success and we all can't wait for the next one!
