Officers Welcome | Seasonal Greeting | Past Seasonal Greetings
In June 2001 Birmingham Citadel welcomed their new Commanding Officers Majors Victor and Miriam Kennedy. They have kindly supplied the following biography.

Victor was born in Northern Ireland at an early age! He came into the Army at Belfast Old Park corps through the scouts. Miriam hails from London. She was taken to the primary and grew up in Shepherds Bush corps.
In 1970 we became Envoys in charge of the Fulham Corps and we entered the Training College in 1972, members of the "Followers of Christ" Session. Since then we have spent twenty-seven happy years following Christ to various appointments in different parts of the country.
At our Commissioning in 1974 we received our first Officer appointment to Lerwick in the Shetland Islands. A sheer delight to be 200 miles in the middle of the North Sea and the same distance from Divisional Headquarters!
In 1977 we were recalled to the Training College to serve on the staff and in 1980 were appointed to the Belfast North Corps. In 1984 we received our appointment as Divisional Youth Secretaries for the Ireland Division. After five happy years in this post we left Ireland and spent the next seven years as commanding officers of the York Citadel corps. We then moved to Manchester the home of the world famous and renowned Manchester United. For the past five years we have lived between Old Trafford Cricket and Old Trafford Football ground. Victor has been the Divisional Director for Field Programme and Miriam the Divisional Director for Personnel.
We are looking forward to getting back to the "real world" as we move from Divisional Headquarters to Birmingham Citadel corps.
We both enjoy walking, swimming, reading and Morse. We like cats although currently do not have one. Victor also enjoys car boot sales - both buying and selling!
