Introduction | 2nd Sept | 9th Sept | 16th Sept | 23rd Sept | 30th Sept
When the theme of celebration was chosen some time ago, no-one could have foreseen the tragic, life-changing events of the 11th September 2001. Now, on this rewritten page, we want to express our deepest sympathy to everyone affected by the terrorist attacks. We cannot pretend to understand why our God should allow such devastation and grief - all we can pray is that one day we will.
Despite the appalling atrocities we are continuing our theme of celebration. After all, we still have much to celebrate.
Let's Celebrate. Let's celebrate God. That's the theme of our weekly public Sunday meetings throughout September. If you are able to join in worship with us, you would be most welcome. If distance is a problem, then please follow with us the Bible readings we will be focussed on each Sunday. By using the hyperlinks shown above or below, you will be able to read through the different Psalms that relate to the themes adopted each Sunday.
The Psalms express every type of human emotion and experience. This has helped make them favourite reading all down the ages. Above all they express a deep faith in the living God. For those in need of comfort at this time we reproduce below the 23rd Psalm:
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no
evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head
with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will
dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
