Webmaster's Update

By way of a change, and as the site is now two years old, I thought I would take this opportunity to say a few words up front.

Firstly I would like to thank everyone who supports this site, I am delighted to record that we have had almost 9,000 visitors in the first two years.  Our guestbook has proved to be the most frequently read page, closely followed by the prayer request page in the last month since it went live.  Extracts from the guestbook also go into our Corps magazine (Citadel Scene) so it goes out to an even wider audience.  Why not take this opportunity to sign our guestbook and leave a message?  You know it will be appreciated!!  Again there seems to be a shyness about people leaving Prayer Requests.  Given the success of our recent 24-7 prayer initiative and, knowing the power of prayer, why not record a prayer request?

You will also be glad to hear that I know of at least two people who have come to the Citadel as a direct result of visiting this site.  One was a student visiting Birmingham and, most recently, someone from Auckland Congress Hall in New Zealand who visited whilst over in the UK on business.  I know from the server statistics that this web site is viewed from around the world.  It is particularly pleasing that it attracts people to the Corps.

Fred Crowhust has had published an article in the Salvationist following the recent visit of the International Staff Songsters (ISS) - his full un-edited report can now be found here.

Given the size and complexity of this web site, I have now incorporated a search engine.  This feature allows you to easily search and navigate both this site, and the Salvation Army's UK site.  The current limitation is that the contents of the individual pages of Citadel Scene are not directly accessible, although you can reach the articles if the word or words you are searching for appear in the Citadel Scene contents pages.  I would appreciate your views on this facility and notification of any difficulties.

Please keep on viewing.

Many thanks

Gordon McKee
